ENROLLMENT SUCCESS, ILLUMINATED
ELEVATE YOUR EVENT EXPERIENCE
You’ve poured your heart into creating an offer you know has the potential to change lives. The strategy is solid, the results are proven, and your excitement is through the roof. Your late nights on Canva are about to pay off and you know the women who are scheduled to attend your next experience will be blessed because of what you created. But when it’s time to present it, there’s crickets. So, what went wrong? Let’s unpack the possible reasons and, more importantly, how to fix them.
Your offer is only as successful as the audience it’s presented to. If your messaging, branding, and pricing don’t align with the needs and desires of your audience, you’re setting yourself up for disappointment.
Take a step back:
Does your marketing clearly articulate who this offer is for?
Are you intentionally crafting your message to resonate with the specific pain points and aspirations of your ideal client?
Ask yourself, who are you calling in? Remember, an amazing offer delivered to the wrong audience is just noise. Survey your audience before the event. Understand their challenges, dreams, and financial capacities so your pitch lands with clarity and confidence. For every event I host I send out an attendee intake form because it's my way of getting to know who will be in the room. I also take that information to pre-qualify people in the room. Do the attendees who will be present qualify based on your criteria? It's important to collect data because it will help you set expectations with yourself.
Even the best ideas can fall flat if they don’t align with what the room needs or expects from you. Have you ever introduced an offer you were excited about, only to find it didn’t resonate with your audience? This could be because:
The offer solves a problem your audience doesn’t feel they have.
It’s packaged in a way that doesn’t feel relevant or appealing.
The solution? Tailor your offer to the specific people in the room. By collecting feedback beforehand and listening during the event, you can adjust your pitch to ensure it meets their needs and sparks their interest.
For example, what if you survey the people before your event and realize that most of the people who will be in attendance aren't ready for your offer in one way or another. A couple things can happen: 1) you can switch up your offer to meet those who are in the room, 2) you can deliver your all at your event and capitalize on getting content and testimonials to help grow your business in other ways if you don't decide to change your offer. I hosted my last event 2 years, 1 person moved forward with my offer, but I still use content from that event to this day.
Pricing is a tricky dance. Too low, and your audience may question the value. Too high, and you risk alienating potential buyers. Either way, mismatched pricing can be a major roadblock to conversions.
Ask yourself:
Does your pricing reflect the transformation and value your offer provides?
Is it positioned to match the financial readiness of your audience?
Consider offering multiple tiers or payment options to meet your audience where they are. People are more likely to buy when the transaction feels accessible and worth it.
Even the most eager buyer can hesitate if the purchasing process feels complicated or intimidating. How seamless is your payment process?
Are there clear instructions on how to say “yes” to your offer?
Do you offer flexible payment plans or incentives to lower the barrier to entry?
Is your sales page or checkout system user-friendly and trustworthy?
Simplify, streamline, and remove any friction points that might cause someone to abandon their decision to purchase. You may think about hiring a back of room salesperson to help guide your attendees forward and to make it as easy as possible for them. When people get confused, they get frustrated and frustrated people are less likely to buy. You don't have to hold someone's hand, but people like to know that there is support ready and available for them if they need it.
Sales, especially in the event space, aren’t just about the pitch. It’s about building trust, creating connection, and positioning yourself as the person who can deliver the transformation they’re seeking.
Before making your offer, ask yourself:
Have you demonstrated expertise through valuable content or engagement?
Have you spent enough time nurturing your audience and showing you understand their journey?
When people trust you, they’ll be more open to investing in what you offer. You just spent a good deal of money on providing an experience, make sure that is exactly what you're doing so when the time comes to present your offer, it's an easy decision to move forward.
A hot offer doesn’t sell itself—it takes intention, alignment, and strategy. Your messaging, branding, and pricing must work in harmony to attract the right people and deliver a clear solution to their most pressing problems.
If your offers haven’t been landing, don’t get discouraged. Instead, use this as an opportunity to refine your strategy and connect more deeply with your audience.
